Dermaplaning: The Best Skin Care Procedure You’ve Probably Never Heard Of
When many of our clients reach out about getting “glowy” skin, they often ask about our chemical peels and microdermabrasion services. However, I’ve noticed that many patients who call in have never heard of one of the most effective and gentle skin-brightening procedures that we offer: dermaplaning. (And when a lot of clients do hear about it, they’re downright suspicious).
This isn’t exactly surprising. On paper, dermaplaning sounds — well — kind of intense. It’s a method of exfoliation that entails a trained aesthetician taking a surgical-grade razor and scraping off the dead and dull outer-most layer of your skin. Even though the procedure is extremely low risk (and actually much more gentle than the more well-known microdermabrasion) a lot of people hear “razor” and “face” and are out.
The irony, of course, is that dermaplaning is one of the best ways to get “red carpet-ready” skin with zero down time. You walk out of the office immediately looking brighter. It’s wonderful for dry, delicate, or mature skin, and the exfoliation process helps serums and other skin-enhancing products to absorb. Plus, it removes any “peach fuzz,” leaving your skin extremely soft and smooth.
Still not convinced? Take a look at the below video to see the process for yourself.

As with any medical-grade procedure, we encourage you to call ahead to ensure this one is right for you. (For example, while dermaplaning works very well with most skin types, it can irritate cystic acne.)
