What Is Sculptra®?

Sculptra® works with your body to stimulate collagen production lost to aging, which rebuilds and reinforces your skin’s structural foundation. Through a series of treatments (typically about three sessions over a few months) it restores the support and volume of youthful looking skin, providing results that can last up to two years. While the time to your final results is more gradual than traditional dermal filler, the results typically last longer.

What to Expect From Your Sculptra® Treatments

Most patients require at least three sessions spaced several months apart. The number of injection sessions and the length of time between sessions vary from person to person. Older patients, thinner patients, and patients who exercise extensively may require more product or more treatment sessions.

Most clients find Sculptra injections extremely tolerable, with mild discomfort to be expected. Much like with dermal filler, minor swelling and bruising is normal post-injection, but will subside within about seven days. You can take Arnica supplements the week before and after your appointment to help keep these side effects to a minimum.

Sculptra® vs. Renuva®: Which Is Better For Me?

Sculptra® and Renuva® are both biostimuulators. This means that they cause our body to regenerate its own tissue (as opposed to, for example, filler, which fills and contours with a gel-like injectable). However, whereas Sculptra helps your body regenerate collagen, Renuva stimulates fat regeneration to supplement age-related fat pad loss in the skin and neck.
